The Bachelor of Music Composition (Hons.) offers students a choice of concentration areas in either Popular Music or Art Music. This three year programme will provide students with the opportunity to explore their musical ideas and own compositional voice through exposure to a diversity of musical style, theory and literature including orchestral techniques, counterpoint & tonal structure, new music, arranging, film scoring and music technology to name a few. Students will have the opportunity to study on selected principle instrument such as modern piano, bassoon, pergendangan melayu and double bass to name a few and engage with practical music performances such as modern music ensemble, Malay traditional music ensemble and orchestra. Towards the end of the six semesters, students will undergo a practicum programme locally or internationally (outbound mobility programme). Final portfolio (final juries) showcase on students music compositions marked the of the programme.
