This degree bridges the gap between the creative arts and the corporate world. You will take a hybrid of music subjects and corporate business subjects.

- Music Law & Ethics: Deep dive into music copyright, publishing rights, intellectual property, and artist contracts.
- Management & Marketing: Principles of advertising, introduction to marketing, and managing PR (Public Relations) for artists.
- Music Production Management: The logistics and economics behind producing an album or running a recording studio.
- Event Management: Budgeting, planning, and executing live concerts, tours, and music festivals.
- Finance: Cost and management accounting specifically tailored for the entertainment industry.
- Capstone & Industrial Training: Instead of a solo recital, your final project involves simulating a real-world music business venture and completing an industrial internship with a record label, event company, or media agency.

Career Prospects
Graduates of MU223 are the people operating behind the scenes to make the music industry profitable. Career paths include:
- Artist and Repertoire (A&R) Manager: Discovering and signing new talent to record labels.
- Music Publisher / Licensing Consultant: Managing copyrights and getting music placed in films, TV, and commercials.
- Artist / Talent Manager: Guiding the careers, branding, and daily schedules of bands and singers.
- Music Event Manager / Promoter: Organizing live concerts and music festivals.
- Music Entrepreneur: Starting your own indie record label, studio, or entertainment agency.
Entry Requirements (Syarat Kemasukan)
Applicant must meet academic requirements and pass an interview/audition.
Academic Requirements
UiTM Diploma Graduates: Diploma in Music (MU110) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (or 2.00 with 2 years of relevant working experience).
Other Diploma Graduates: Any recognized Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
STPM/Matriculation: Pass with specific grade requirements AND credits in SPM Mathematics, English, and History.
MUET: Minimum Band 1 (Band 3+ is highly recommended since business involves heavy communication and contract reading).
The Audition & Interview
Because the program is housed under the Faculty of Music, you are still required to undergo an audition and interview.
Interview: The panel will test your knowledge of the current music industry. Expect questions about local record labels, streaming platforms (Spotify/Apple Music economics), copyright issues, and your entrepreneurial mindset.
Audition: You will likely need to demonstrate basic musical competency on an instrument or voice to prove you have a foundational understanding of music.
How to Apply?
For Current UiTM Diploma Students
(Use this method if you are currently in your final semester of a UiTM Diploma)
- Log in to the UiTM Student Portal (iStudent).
- Navigate to the Admission or Hal Ehwal Akademik section.
- Select "Penerapan ke Ijazah Sarjana Muda" (Absorption to Degree).
- Choose program code MU223 as your first choice.
- Submit the application before the semester deadline (usually opens around March/April for the September intake).
For External Applicants
(Use this method for STPM, Matriculation, Asasi, or Diploma graduates from other institutions)
- Purchase a UPU PIN number from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) (via counter, ATM, or myBSN).
- Visit the UPUOnline Portal to register an account and log in.
- Complete your personal and academic profile in the system.
- Search for and select program code MU223 (Bachelor of Music Business) under Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
- Click "Sah & Hantar" (Confirm & Submit) and save your application slip for reference.
